How to Check an Unfamiliar Shopping Spreadsheet
A new platform name may catch your attention, but the useful questions stay simple: what is the item, where does the link go, and what evidence can you check?
Start with the real task
Decide what you need before opening another link
A spreadsheet can help you discover an item, recover its original source, compare alternatives, or find missing photos. Those are different jobs, and each one has a different stopping point.
Recover the original source
Keep the title, option, seller context, and source price together while you follow the link.
Check two or three alternatives
Use the same measurements and photo angles for every candidate.
Look for missing evidence
Ask for the photo, size detail, compatibility note, or weight estimate that would change your decision.
Use official support
Login, payment, order, refund, and parcel questions belong to the service connected to the transaction.

Names are only labels
An unfamiliar platform name proves very little
Shopping services change names, domains, and availability. A platform name beside a row does not prove that the spreadsheet is official, recently reviewed, or connected to the service.
Check the visible review date, destination domain, item title, selected option, photos, measurements, and price currency. If those details drift between pages, return to the last source you understood.
Never enter an account password, payment information, address, or identity document simply because a copied sheet describes a page as trusted. Open the service independently when you need account or transaction support.

Write down four details you do not want to lose
A link is easier to check when you keep a small record of the item before leaving the page where you found it.
Save enough of the title to recognize the same product after translation or truncation.
Record size, color, version, quantity, and any variation that changes the item.

Check the date
A year in the title does not make every row current
Look for a visible review date and check whether the destination still works. A current year beside the sheet title may describe when the page was published, not when each row was checked.
For an older sheet, expect more unavailable items, changed options, and redirected links. Use it for discovery only, then confirm every important detail on the live destination.

Choose the category, write down the one missing answer, and compare no more than a few close alternatives. If another page does not reduce uncertainty, it has not improved the shortlist.
When the issue involves an account, payment, order, refund, or parcel, stop following copied links and use the official service connected to the transaction.
Use the spreadsheet checklist
